From the Mouths of Babes

I just finished my second grade class. It's Monday, so I started class with some conversation asking the kids what they did over the weekend. One girl, Yok, said she was sick on Sunday. She didn't know the English word for "to throw up" so she acted it out, to the delight of the rest of the kids. I then taught them their non-lesson related vocabulary of "to throw up" and followed by asking them what it meant, to see if they were paying attention. A kid named O.C. raised his hand:

"Teacher, it's when poops come out of your mouth."

The kid had a totally serious look on his face! Here are my second graders:
